The Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) has issued a circular indicating that, due to incorrect projections of the back pay for temporary employees, a lower tax bracket was used for approximately 77,000 employees, who therefore, paid less tax than what they should have.  The tax debt owed by these employees will be recovered from the affected employees per normal salary deduction, commencing July 2018.  Depending on the debt amount, the tax owed will be deducted in instalments ranging from a single to 6 instalments (months).
