Welcome to NAPTOSA, Gauteng Province

NAPTOSA, the second largest union in the education sector, was registered by the Registrar of Labour Relations as the Trade Union on 1 November 2006. Furthermore, .

NAPTOSA enjoys all the rights of a trade union and operates within the National ELRC under the name of the Combined Trade Unions (CTU), called CTU – ATU. The Provincial Autonomous Teachers’ Unions (ATU) consist of NAPTOSA (the corresponding party), NATU, PEU, PSA and SAOU.

NAPTOSA is the only education sector union that is truly representative of the demographics of South Africa. Its strength lies in the diverse backgrounds of its members, bound by a common commitment to professionalism and to educating the youth of South Africa.

15h15—Alison Scott : A deeper dive into reading and comprehension— strategies to build word reading skills, to support comprehension and to identify areas of focus that will support fluency.

24 June : 14h30—Mandy Herold : Conscious Discipline—In this global pandemic, our schools HAVE to be more intentional about prioritizing Social Emotional Learning. Upskilling our staff with tools for Self-Regulation has never been more important than it is right now.

15h15—Robyn Clark : Mathematical competency in SA is in a dire state. Mrs. Clark will cover the big ideas learners encounter in primary school, how some of them can be developed in the foundation phase, and the threads of understanding that run through to the intermediate phase. Strategies for differentiation in the mathematics classroom will be covered.
